The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea Scenic Area is a Daoist-themed cultural attraction on the coast of Penglai, in the northern part of Yantai, built at the spot where legend says the eight immortals set off across the sea. Connected to the seaside road by an ornamental bridge, it is one of the most distinctive themed sites in the greater Yantai region and a popular stop for travelers interested in Chinese mythology, classical gardens, and coastal scenery.

The site is laid out as a walkable garden of pavilions, terraces, shrines, and lotus ponds arranged around two small lakes known as the Jasper Pools. Highlights include the Eight Immortals Bridge with its stone archways bearing calligraphy attributed to the Song dynasty poet Su Dongpu, the Eight Immortals Wall with its carved jade relief telling the crossing story, and the Hall of the Eight Immortals where visitors pause to make offerings. The Pavilion of Meeting Immortals, set in the larger pool, is the complex's signature structure, a multi-story tower housing statues of seventy-two Daoist deities, with a rooftop terrace that looks out over the sea.

Beyond the architecture, the gardens offer a relaxing walk among rocks, ornamental trees, and water features, with sea views opening up at every corner. Strolling the perimeter path takes you past smaller shrines, ponds, and the closing altar where the famous statue of the Eight Immortals marks the legendary departure point.
