木府について

Mu Mansion, known locally as Mu Fu, is a historic residential and administrative complex in Lijiang associated with the Mu family, who served as the hereditary local rulers of the Lijiang area for centuries under successive Chinese dynasties. The mansion is one of the most prominent architectural landmarks within Lijiang Old Town, reflecting the wealth and authority the Mu clan held as intermediaries between the Naxi population and the imperial court.

The complex is built in a grand, palace-like style that combines Naxi building traditions with strong Han Chinese architectural influences, a reflection of the Mu family's close ties to the imperial administration. Visitors walking through the mansion encounter a series of halls, courtyards, and gardens arranged along a central axis, with decorative details, carved woodwork, and painted beams that convey the scale of the original residence. The layout and design offer insight into how the Mu rulers lived and governed, blending domestic space with more formal ceremonial areas.

A visit to Mu Mansion typically takes a couple of hours, allowing time to move through the various halls and courtyards at a relaxed pace. Because it sits within the old town, it is easy to reach on foot from most parts of Lijiang's historic center, and combining it with other nearby sights makes for an efficient use of time.

Given its central location, Mu Mansion is often visited alongside other landmarks within Lijiang Old Town, such as nearby streets, bridges, and viewpoints, making it a natural stop for travelers spending a day exploring the history and architecture of the town.
