Privacy Policy

1000usdinchina ("we", "us") is a free budget estimator for foreign tourists planning trips to China. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights.

What we collect

• Email address — only if you use the "Email me this trip" feature.
• Trip parameters — entry/exit cities, budget, tier, dates, selected route. Stored server-side when you email, copy, or share your plan.
• Locale & currency preference — derived from your UI selection, stored alongside your email if you subscribe.
• Approximate geography — country and region from Cloudflare's network header, stored with trip records. No IP address is stored.

We do not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any third-party tracking pixels.

Why we collect it

• To send you your trip plan by email (one-time).
• To send occasional China travel tips if you opt in (you can opt out at any time).
• To aggregate anonymised usage patterns that help us improve the estimator.

How long we keep it

Email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Trip records (without email) are kept indefinitely for aggregate analysis. You can request deletion of all your data at any time.

Who we share it with

We use Resend (resend.com) to deliver emails. Your email address is passed to Resend solely to deliver your trip plan. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third party.

Your rights (GDPR / applicable law)

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Deletion — request that we delete your email address and trip records.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Opt-out — unsubscribe from emails at any time via the link in any email, or by contacting us.

Hosting & security

The site runs on Cloudflare Pages and Workers (EU/US infrastructure). Data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite-compatible edge database). Cloudflare's infrastructure is SOC 2 Type II certified. All connections are TLS-encrypted.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance.
