The Sui Yangdi Mausoleum Site Park is an archaeological park on the outskirts of Yangzhou dedicated to the tomb of Emperor Yang of the Sui dynasty, the second and final emperor of the short-lived Sui regime, who is historically associated with both the construction of the Grand Canal and the collapse of his own dynasty through overreach. The park presents the burial site within a designed landscape organized around the archaeological remains, making it one of Yangzhou's more unusual historically themed stops.

The layout of the park is built around a central axis anchored by the mausoleum itself, with the burial structure housed inside a protective shelter designed to preserve the original "jia"-shaped tomb pit, a form characteristic of high-ranking Tang and pre-Tang burials. Around this core, the park is divided into themed zones that include an entrance and approach sequence, a transitional plaza, the main burial display area, sections interpreting the historical and environmental context of the site, and a separate gallery for the artifacts excavated from it. A cultural activity area and ecological buffer zones round out the layout, giving the park a more structured, museum-in-the-landscape character than a traditional cemetery site.

The interpretive focus of the park is Emperor Yang's reign and his complicated historical legacy. The Sui dynasty, though brief, laid much of the institutional and infrastructural foundation for the much longer Tang dynasty that followed, and the construction of the Grand Canal in particular is now widely regarded, with the hindsight of centuries, as one of the most consequential engineering projects in Chinese history, even as it contributed to the Sui's own downfall. The displays at the mausoleum park place Emperor Yang and the canal in that longer perspective, allowing visitors to think about him as more than the one-dimensional tyrant of popular tradition.

A relaxed visit typically takes around an hour and a half, with most of the time spent in the central mausoleum area and the artifact gallery. The site is quieter than Yangzhou's headline attractions and rarely crowded, which suits its more reflective subject matter.

Because it sits somewhat apart from the central sightseeing cluster, the mausoleum park appeals most to visitors with a deeper interest in Chinese imperial history or in the Grand Canal story, and it pairs naturally with a wider canal-themed itinerary that might also include the China Grand Canal Museum and the Sanwan scenic area.
