Giới thiệu về Bảo tàng di tích Nước Hải Hôn Hầu thời Hán Nam Xương

The Nanchang Han Dynasty Haihunhou State Site Museum is the indoor exhibition complement to the outdoor archaeological park that protects the tomb of the Marquis of Haihun, located in the northern suburbs of Nanchang. While the archaeological park allows visitors to walk among the excavated tomb mounds and the foundations of the marquisate's ancient capital, the museum concentrates the most significant portable finds from the excavation under one roof, presenting them in climate-controlled galleries where the detail of individual objects can be examined up close.

The collections are dominated by the extraordinary material recovered from the tomb of Liu He, the first Marquis of Haihun and a briefly enthroned Han emperor. On display are gold objects in several forms — including the horse-hoof-shaped ingots and gold cakes typical of Han imperial gift-giving — alongside bronze ritual vessels, lacquerware in remarkably preserved condition, jade ornaments, and inscribed bamboo slips that are still being studied for what they reveal about Han-dynasty administration, literature, and ritual. The museum's interpretation emphasizes not only the beauty of the objects but their scholarly significance, since the Haihunhou tomb is widely regarded as the most important Western Han archaeological find in China in recent decades.

For visitors, the museum and the adjacent archaeological park work best as a pair: the park conveys the scale of the site and the experience of standing above an intact Han-dynasty burial complex, while the museum provides the artifacts and context that make sense of what lies underground. Travelers with a serious interest in early Chinese history can easily spend half a day between the two. English labeling is limited, so the objects largely speak for themselves, but the sheer density of gold, bronze, and lacquer on display makes an impression even without detailed context. The museum is a worthwhile stop for anyone wanting to understand why the Haihunhou discovery has attracted so much attention within Chinese archaeology.
