О Улица Люсинцзе в городе Инин
Yining's Liuxingjie (Six-Star Street) is one of the most distinctive historic districts in northwest China's Ili River Valley, laid out in the mid-1930s around a radial plan that has drawn comparisons to European garden-city concepts. Six main roads fan outward from a central hub, dividing the neighborhood into six wedge-shaped sectors, with schools and shops clustered at the core and residential courtyards ringing the perimeter. Locals sometimes nickname the area "Little Bagua City" for its striking geometry.
Wandering the lanes of Yining, visitors encounter a layered architectural record of the twentieth century. Traditional Uyghur-style courtyards with carved wooden doors and painted eaves sit beside Russian-influenced brick houses and later mid-century blocks, reflecting the waves of migration and exchange that shaped this frontier hub. The street grid itself was drawn up by a German planner commissioned during the Republican era, giving the district an unusual cross-cultural pedigree rarely seen in western China.
Today Liuxingjie functions as both a living neighborhood and an open-air heritage walk. Small museums, accordion workshops, and bakeries selling Russian-style bread and Uyghur flatbreads line the radial avenues, while cafes and craft studios have moved into restored courtyards. Street musicians and weekend handicraft markets give the area a relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere that sets it apart from newer commercial districts.
For independent travelers using Yining as a base to explore the wider Ili region, Liuxingjie offers an accessible introduction to the multicultural character of the river valley. The flat terrain is easy to explore on foot or by bicycle, and the radial layout makes orientation simple, since any main road eventually leads back to the central plaza. Early mornings and late afternoons, when the light catches the pastel facades, are particularly rewarding for photography.
Культурное наследие
Liuxing Jie was laid out between 1934 and 1936 by a German engineer following the "six policies" of the then Xinjiang government; the plan is circular, with six main roads radiating from the centre to divide it into six wedges, hence the name "Six-Star Street." In its 0.7 square kilometres live more than a thousand households of thirteen peoples—Han, Uyghur, Kazakh, Russian and more—a portrait of Ili's mingling cultures and the first national-level ICH scenic area in the prefecture.
Посещение: Following the strains of the accordion up to the second floor of the folk-culture hall, one reaches the Alexander Accordion Collection, where the Russian collector Alexander Zazhurin has gathered more than eight hundred instruments from over twenty countries across forty years; on the lanes below the scent of lieba bread and the sound of bayan and many peoples' song and dance are never far away, the liveliest open-air stage of Yining's multicultural life.
