The Asia-Europe International Sightseeing Experience Hall is an observation deck occupying two upper floors of Lanzhou's tallest building, the Ya Ou International Tower, a single-tower skyscraper in central Lanzhou. At a total architectural height in the order of three hundred metres, with the observation deck on the fifty-fourth and fifty-fifth floors, the hall is the highest publicly accessible viewing point in the city. For international visitors, it offers the most complete single panorama of Lanzhou and the surrounding landscape.

The architectural concept of the tower draws on the imagery of a great sail, intended to evoke the classical Chinese poetic image of a sail raised to cross the open sea. The form reads particularly strongly when viewed from the Yellow River waterfront, where the silhouette of the tower rises above the city in a manner that suggests a vertical sail against the sky. The design is one of the more ambitious recent additions to the Lanzhou skyline, and the building has quickly become one of the most identifiable modern landmarks in the city.

The observation deck itself takes full advantage of the height. From the upper floors, visitors look out across the Lanzhou basin, with the Yellow River winding through the urban area and the mountains rising on both sides to enclose the city in its characteristic corridor setting. The view is particularly striking at sunset, when the colour of the light on the river and the mountainside brings out the layered geography of the basin. The sight lines also take in the broader regional geography, including the mountain ranges that frame the Lanzhou corridor and the open ground beyond.

For international visitors, the Asia-Europe International Sightseeing Experience Hall is best treated as a focused one-hour stop, generally timed for the late afternoon and sunset. The hall is easily accessible by public transport from central Lanzhou, and the visit can be paired with a walk along the Yellow River waterfront or with dinner in one of the restaurants in the lower floors of the tower. The ticketed observation deck is open year-round, but visibility is best on clear days, particularly in autumn and winter, when the air is driest and the long views across the basin are most legible.
