国家級無形文化遺産 · 第1次選定
起源

Huadeng Opera is a traditional theater form widespread across Guizhou, evolved from folk lantern song-dance and dramatic performance; its origins trace to the mid-Ming dynasty, and over four-plus centuries it developed distinct local schools in Guiyang, Zunyi and Tongren.

芸能の形態

Performance centers on distinctive movement conventions—the 'dwarf step,' trailing sleeves and fan flourishes—combined with local folk melodies and work chants; the music is lively and accessible, and the repertoire is drawn from everyday domestic life.

文化的意義

Inscribed in 2006 on the first national ICH list, Guizhou Huadeng Opera is the province's most representative Han folk theater, carrying the rich legacy of folk music and dramatic culture across central Guizhou.

Multiple Huadeng troupes operate in Guiyang and surrounding counties, performing at festivals, temple fairs and dedicated shows; cultural venues such as Colorful Guizhou Town also organize regular lantern-opera showcases.
