起源

Emeishan martial arts originated in the cultivation practices of Buddhist and Taoist communities on the mountain, said to have been founded in the Southern Song dynasty and systematised during the Yuan and Ming periods. It developed a unique martial system fusing Buddhist meditative stillness and Taoist breathing exercises, known for close-range strikes and footwork.

Emeishan martial arts encompasses a wide range of forms, known for close-range techniques, sharp leg work and using the opponent's force. Inner cultivation and outer forms are equally emphasised. Active schools on the mountain continue training and transmission today.
