大連・ロシア風情街について

The Dalian Russian Style Street (Tuanjie Street, west of Shengli Bridge) is a short, pedestrian-friendly lane a few minutes' walk from Dalian Railway Station, lined with a remarkably intact collection of early-twentieth-century Russian civic and residential buildings. Built during the brief period of Russian influence over the city before the 1905 Russo-Japanese War, these structures are among the oldest and most distinctive colonial-era buildings in northeast China, and the street has become one of the most photographed historic enclaves in Dalian.

The buildings along the street are genuinely old, not reconstructions. They were built in the first years of the twentieth century, when Tsarist Russia held the concession over what was then called Dalny and was building it as a Pacific port and administrative center. The architecture reflects that origin: round corner turrets, steeply pitched roofs, ornamental brickwork, arched windows, and pastel-painted facades typical of Russian provincial civic architecture of the period. Walking from one end of the street to the other, visitors can read the layers of Dalian's colonial past in the facades themselves.

Today, the street functions as a small cultural and leisure district. Many of the buildings have been converted into shops, cafés, restaurants, small hotels, and boutiques, some with Russian-themed interiors and menus. The street's proximity to the railway station makes it an easy stop for travelers arriving in or departing from Dalian, and a brief walk is enough to take in the architectural highlights.

For travelers, the Russian Style Street is a worthwhile half-hour stop, particularly for those interested in architecture and urban history. It pairs naturally with a visit to Zhongshan Square — another cluster of early-twentieth-century colonial architecture in central Dalian — and the wider waterfront. English-language signage is limited, so some background reading on Dalian's colonial-era history before visiting helps to contextualize the buildings. Mornings are quiet; late afternoons and weekends are busier with domestic tourists and photography groups.

The Russian Style Street is Tuanjie Street, northwest of Shengli Bridge near Dalian railway station, a surviving fragment of the quarter laid out by Russians at the city's founding; its Russian-style old buildings, mostly erected over a century ago and well preserved, are an important physical witness to Dalian's origins as a modern port city.

見学案内: Stepping in from the head of the street, the red-brick walls, spires and arched windows of the old Russian-style buildings unfold in sequence, as if one had entered a European lane; Russian restaurants and souvenir shops lend an exotic air, making it a popular spot for lovers of old architecture and street photography.
