À propos de Baie de Yalong

Yalong Bay is the most celebrated of Sanya's tropical bays, a long crescent of white sand and blue water on the central coast, widely regarded as one of the finest beaches in China. Sitting roughly an hour's drive from the airport and twenty minutes east of downtown Sanya, it has become the anchor of the city's upscale resort development, with a string of international hotels stretching along the shore. For many first-time visitors to Sanya, Yalong Bay is what comes to mind when they picture a Hainan beach holiday.

The bay curves for several kilometers between green headlands, with a wide band of soft white sand and clear water that shifts through shades of turquoise and deep blue. Sea temperatures run between twenty-two and twenty-five degrees Celsius across the year, which means the water is warm enough to swim in even in midwinter, when northern China is frozen. The sand is fine and pale, the water quality is well maintained, and the setting is backed by forested hills that slope down toward the coast, giving the bay a greener and more sheltered feel than Sanya's more exposed western beaches.

The Chinese edition of National Geographic has recognized Yalong Bay among China's top eight bays, a distinction that reflects both the natural quality of the beach and the level of development that has grown up around it. The resort strip along the shore is the most concentrated in Sanya, with large hotel grounds, pool decks, beach clubs, and landscaped gardens giving the bay a polished, manicured character. Public access to the beach itself is maintained alongside the resort development, and the beachfront promenade makes it easy to walk the length of the bay.

Yalong Bay is best treated as a destination in its own right rather than a stop on a wider day out. Most visitors stay here for several nights and use it as a base from which to take day trips to the islands, the Nanshan cultural zone, or the interior mountains. For swimmers, sunbathers, and anyone who simply wants a classic tropical-beach experience, it is the most dependable stretch of sand in Sanya, and the place where the city's identity as China's premier tropical resort is most fully realized.
