The Star of Nanchang, rising from the Hongjiaozhou district of the city's Honggutan new area, is one of the tallest Ferris wheels in the world and the most prominent feature on Nanchang's modern skyline. When it was completed in 2006, it briefly ranked among the highest observation wheels on the planet, and it remains one of the largest in Asia, with a total height of roughly one hundred and sixty meters and a wheel diameter that places it in the same category as the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer.
