Suji-Altstadt

Suji Ancient Town is a historic market town on the western edge of Leshan with more than a thousand years of continuous settlement, and it has become one of the most rewarding day trips for travelers who want a break from the grand Buddhist sites of the region. Founded in the Sui dynasty, the town sits at the geographic center of the triangle formed by the Leshan Giant Buddha, Mount Emei, and the Dongfeng Weir, and for centuries it served as the natural staging post for pilgrims heading toward the sacred mountain.
