Cultural heritage

The Hu Qing Yu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum occupies the historic Hu Qing Yu Tang complex below Wu Hill in Hangzhou and is China's first museum devoted to Chinese medicine. This late-Qing Huizhou-style courtyard, named a Major National Cultural Relic site in 1988, gathers displays on the origins of Chinese medicine, working pharmacies and a grand dispensing hall.

Visiting: Beneath the hanging "forbid deception" plaque, visitors find an ornately carved old apothecary, traditional tools and workshop scenes for pills and pastes—feeling the century of integrity and craft behind the "Medicine King of Jiangnan" and the living transmission of this national heritage.
