Fenghuang Ancient Town

Fenghuang Ancient Town sits in the hills of western Hunan province, within the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and ranks among China's most celebrated riverside old towns. Rated a 5A scenic area, the top tier in China's national tourism grading system, it has drawn travelers for decades with its blend of Miao and Tujia heritage, Qing-dynasty streets, and a setting along a gently curving river.
