The Cui Yongping Shadow Puppetry Museum in Beijing is built on the lifelong collection of the shadow-play artist Cui Yongping, dedicated to preserving Beijing shadow puppetry, a nationally recognized heritage. It holds thousands of leather figures, props and old performance chests, presenting the whole art from carving and coloring to performance — a key place to understand this theater of light and shadow.
