Giới thiệu về Đảo Đặc Trình

Techeng Island, sometimes called Red Island for its rust-colored laterite earth and weathered volcanic rock, sits a short ferry ride from downtown Zhanjiang in the sheltered waters of the harbor. Small, flat, and ringed by mangrove forest, it has become one of the city's most accessible island escapes, popular with locals for weekend day trips and with foreign visitors looking for a relaxed taste of South China Sea village life without the long drive to more remote islands.

The island's defining feature is its mangrove fringe, with stands of protected trees, some estimated at nearly five hundred years old, anchoring the tidal flats along the western shore. Raised wooden boardwalks thread through the forest, letting visitors walk above the roots and watch crabs, mudskippers, and herons working the shallows. Bird life is rich year-round, and the mangroves are part of a national-level nature reserve, reflecting their importance as both a coastal defense buffer and a fish nursery.

Beyond the mangroves, Techeng offers a quiet slice of island life. A centuries-old Xitai Temple honors the local sea goddess and remains the social heart of the village, especially during the Lunar New Year festivities. A white-sand beach on the southern shore is the main swimming spot, with shallow water and gentle waves suitable for children. Anti-Japanese war resistance sites, including old fortifications, provide a sober historical footnote for travelers interested in the island's twentieth-century story.

Techeng Island is one of the easiest offshore trips in the Zhanjiang area. Regular passenger boats run from the downtown ferry terminal, with a short crossing time, and bicycles or electric carts are available for rent near the pier. Most visitors spend a half-day walking the boardwalks, swimming, and eating at family-run seafood restaurants that line the harbor lane, where the catch comes straight from the boats each morning. Pack insect repellent for the mangrove trails, and time the visit with the tide chart, since the boardwalks and beach are at their best when the water is in motion rather than fully out.
