The Yili Tianshan Huahai Scenic Area (Tianshan Flower Sea), located in Kashi Township near Yining, is a large pastoral-tourism complex set against the snow-capped backdrop of the Tianshan Mountains. Certified as a national 4A-level attraction in 2022, it combines flower-field sightseeing, fruit-picking orchards, and camping facilities across a working agricultural landscape.

The signature sight is a continuous ribbon of lavender stretching roughly twelve kilometers across rolling foothills, one of the most extensive lavender plantings in the Ili River Valley. From mid-June into July the purple flowers bloom in waves, filling the air with fragrance and drawing photographers, couples, and road-trippers traveling the Yining countryside. Beyond lavender, the site cultivates organic fruit trees, specialty oil crops, and demonstration plots that highlight the agricultural diversity of the Ili basin.

Visitors can walk raised paths between fields, join hands-on workshops on essential-oil distillation, or rent tents at a drive-in campsite to watch the sunset over the flower belt. A small petting zoo and seasonal picking zones make the park popular with families, while signage along the trails explains the ecology of the valley and the history of lavender cultivation in Yining, which was introduced here in the mid-twentieth century.

As a relatively new addition to the Yili tourism circuit, the Flower Sea represents the valley's effort to blend large-scale farming with rural tourism and light manufacturing. Travelers pairing it with nearby Kazanqi Folk Tourism Area or the Ili River scenic corridor will get a fuller picture of why this corner of northwest China is often called the "land beyond the Great Wall."
