Giới thiệu về Chợ đêm Thụy Phong

Ruifeng Night Market is one of Kaohsiung's largest and most locally beloved night markets, located in the Zuoying district at the intersection of Yucheng Road and Nanping Road. With a history stretching back roughly two decades and more than a thousand stalls packed into a dense grid, it is the night market that many Kaohsiung residents treat as their own kitchen, returning week after week for familiar dishes, clothes, and household items. For international visitors, it offers a more local and somewhat more energetic counterpart to the centrally located Liuhe Night Market.

The layout of the market is denser and more labyrinthine than the linear strip of Liuhe. Stalls are arranged in tight rows, with narrow lanes running between them, and the variety on offer is correspondingly broad. Food dominates: noodles, grilled seafood, fried chicken cutlets, dumplings, fruit juices, bubble tea, and dozens of regional specialties are available within a few minutes' walk of each other. Alongside the food, vendors sell clothing, accessories, toys, small electronics, and household goods, giving Ruifeng the feel of a working market rather than a curated tourist experience.

What distinguishes Ruifeng from other Kaohsiung night markets is its atmosphere. The market is busier, noisier, and more popular with local families than with tour groups, which means that the food tends to be priced for repeat customers and the stall owners expect to see the same faces regularly. The energy peaks in the evening and on weekends, when the lanes become genuinely crowded and the experience takes on the slightly overwhelming quality that defines the best Taiwanese night markets.

For international visitors, Ruifeng is best treated as a dinner destination rather than a casual stroll. Bring cash, expect to queue for the most popular stalls, and come prepared to walk and eat rather than sit. The market is easily accessible by metro and is particularly well placed for travellers staying in or visiting the Zuoying district, which is also the location of Kaohsiung's high-speed rail station. Allow two to three hours for a full visit. The market is closed on some weekdays; check opening days before travelling.
