О Горячие источники Ланьюэвань

Blue Moon Bay Hot Spring is a 4A-rated geothermal spa tucked inside the Haibin Guesthouse complex in eastern downtown Zhanjiang, one of the rare volcanic-rock hot springs in China found in the middle of a major city center. For foreign travelers wrapping up a few days of beach walks and island-hopping, it offers an easy, low-key evening of recovery without leaving town, and it doubles as a window into how local Zhanjiang residents unwind.

The water is drawn from more than six hundred meters below ground, where it filters through ancient volcanic strata before rising at temperatures consistently above forty-five degrees Celsius. The mineral profile, rich in trace elements, gives the water a faintly silky texture and the characteristic faint-sulfur smell that signals a genuine geothermal source rather than a heated municipal supply. The outdoor pools are arranged across a tropical garden of banyans, palms, bamboo groves, and small waterfalls, with footbridges and stone paths linking them into a circuit.

The bathing experience is built around variety. Open-air pools range from a hot soak at forty-two degrees for cold-weather evenings to a gently warm thirty-six-degree basin suited to long lounging. Specialty pools add herbal infusions such as angelica and mugwort, fish-pedicure pools where tiny garra rufa nibble dead skin, and a children's wading area with shallow water and water-jet toys. Private rooms with their own wooden tubs are available for couples or families who prefer seclusion, and a modest sauna and steam complex sits adjacent to the main pool garden.

Blue Moon Bay is best visited in the cooler months from October to April, when the contrast between hot water and crisp evening air is most pleasant, though the pools stay open year-round. Most visitors book a two- to three-hour evening session, and the on-site restaurant serves simple Cantonese fare and hot ginger tea that helps extend the soak. Bring swimwear, a waterproof phone pouch, and flip-flops, and store valuables in the electronic lockers provided at check-in. The downtown location means a taxi to most hotels costs only a few yuan, making it easy to incorporate into any Zhanjiang itinerary.
