Sijimei
Batch 1Est. 1922
Founding
Sijimei was founded in 1922. Its founder began with a stall of seasonal snacks, and the name — meaning "beautiful in all four seasons" — reflects food offered year-round; it later specialized in soup dumplings.
What made it famous
Sijimei stands with Cailinji's hot-dry noodles and Laotongcheng's bean-curd rolls among the city's signature snacks; its "King of Soup Dumplings" reputation makes it an emblem of Wuhan's breakfast culture.
Signature craft
Its soup dumplings prize thin skins, tender filling and abundant broth; the technique entered Hubei's provincial intangible-heritage list in 2020.
Cultural standing
Sijimei was recognized as a China Time-Honored Brand in 2011.
