Shiyitang

Founded in the Qing dynasty, Shiyitang is one of the oldest Chinese apothecaries in the northeast; a folk saying pairs "Shiyitang in the north, Huqingyu in the south," and after several changes it joined Harbin Pharmaceutical Group as its Shiyitang factory, carrying on the tradition of Chinese medicine preparation.

Shiyitang is known for authentic materials and exacting preparation, its traditional Chinese patent medicines well regarded across the northeast, and it is one of the few Chinese-medicine names recognised as a time-honoured brand in Heilongjiang.

Its traditional pharmacy follows classical preparation, with pills, powders and tonics demanding authentic herbs and precise heat control, carrying on the northeast's Chinese-medicine craft and still producing a number of classic patent remedies.
