Fang Hui Chun Tang was founded in 1649 by the Qiantang native Fang Qingyi on Hangzhou's Hefang Street, one of the city's oldest surviving Chinese-medicine houses.

What made it famous

Guided by the maxim that careful compounding needs no witness but heaven, the house is well known in Hangzhou for its wintertime medicinal pastes.

Signature craft

It emphasizes authentic herbs and traditional processing, simmering pastes and rolling pills by old methods that preserve Jiangnan pharmacy craft.

Cultural standing

A Zhejiang time-honored brand, still operating on Hefang Street.
