Jiuzhitang
Batch 1In 1650, the physician Lao Cheng opened a small apothecary on Pozi Street in Changsha; his son named it "Lao Jiuzhitang" after an auspicious image in his father's painting of nine sacred fungi, and this is the origin of the brand that has now endured for over 370 years.
Jiuzhitang has long held to a creed of full effort in medicine and conscience in healing; since the Qing dynasty it has been known for authentic materials and exacting preparation, and is a recognised time-honoured brand and key Chinese-medicine enterprise.
Its traditional pharmacy insists on authentic herbs and time-honoured processing, with pills, powders and tonics following classical formulas; its donkey-hide gelatin and blood-nourishing remedies are especially well known, carrying on the Hunan medicine tradition.
Jiuzhitang is a recognised Chinese time-honoured brand.
