Baihuacun
제1차 선정Baihuacun traces back to the state-run "Baihuacun United Canteen" opened in 1959 on Zhongshan Road in Urumqi, a flagship of the city's dining scene in the planned-economy era. After several rounds of restructuring it continues today as Xinjiang Baihuacun Fast Food Chain Co., Ltd., and is locally regarded as a time-honoured restaurant brand.
Baihuacun made its name by gathering flavours from across Xinjiang into quick everyday meals, and for generations of Urumqi residents it stands alongside the street markets as a homely taste of the city, an easy entry point for visitors meeting Xinjiang home cooking.
Its kitchen centres on everyday Xinjiang staples—pilaf, pulled noodles, kebabs and big-plate chicken—served fast yet true to flavour, reflecting Urumqi's everyday blend of many peoples' cuisines.
Baihuacun was named among the first batch of time-honoured restaurants recognised by the Urumqi Municipal Bureau of Commerce in 2014.
