옌즈산 삼림공원 소개

Yanzhi Mountain Forest Park is a forested mountain area east of Zhangye, named for a historical term associated with the ancient nomadic peoples of the Gansu corridor. The park sits at altitude on the northern slopes of the Qilian range, and its landscape of forest, meadow, and cooler air offers a clear contrast to the painted Danxia hills and canyon country for which Zhangye itself is best known.

The mountain has long been woven into the historical identity of the Hexi Corridor, appearing in early Chinese poetry and historical records associated with the frontier conflicts and exchanges between the ancient nomadic confederations of the steppe and the Han dynasty. That historical resonance gives the site a cultural and literary dimension alongside its natural scenery, particularly for visitors interested in the deeper history of the Gansu corridor and the many peoples who moved through it over the centuries.

As a forest park, Yanzhi Mountain is geared toward summer visits, when the forested slopes and meadows are at their greenest and the altitude provides relief from the heat that builds across the lower Gansu corridor in the height of summer. The park's trails and viewing areas are spread across a relatively large area, and visits tend to be unhurried, with the focus on walking and scenery rather than the platform-to-platform circuit that defines the experience at Zhangye's more intensively developed Danxia sites.

For a Zhangye itinerary, Yanzhi Mountain works best as a summer addition for travelers with their own transport and an extra day to spend beyond the headline Danxia attractions. It offers a quieter, more pastoral landscape than the painted hills, and it pairs naturally with a wider exploration of the Qilian foothills east of the city.
