The Yueyang Giant Panda Park is a large panda-themed ecological park on the eastern fringe of the city of Yueyang, Hunan. Developed as a flagship project for the city's emerging green-tourism identity, the park combines a giant panda conservation and exhibition zone with a broader portfolio of family-oriented attractions, making it one of the most popular weekend destinations for Chinese families traveling within Hunan Province.

The core of the park is the giant panda ecological zone, where pandas live in landscaped enclosures designed to mimic their natural mountain habitat. Viewing areas are positioned to give visitors clear sightlines of the pandas at different times of day — resting in shaded groves during the heat of the afternoon, climbing, or feeding on bamboo — and the design draws on the experience of larger panda bases elsewhere in China. For international visitors who do not have time to travel to Chengdu or the reserves in western Sichuan, the Yueyang Giant Panda Park offers a more accessible opportunity to see giant pandas in central China.

Beyond the pandas, the master plan envisions a much broader destination. Themed zones are being developed to include a panda-themed amusement park, a marine-life exhibition, a "cute pet" zone with small animals, an ecological wetland, a rural-revitalization tourism area, and a large visitor distribution center. Not all of these components may be operational at any given time, so travelers should set expectations accordingly and check current open zones before arriving — the site is actively expanding and the visitor experience is still maturing.

For foreign visitors, the park is primarily of interest as a family destination or as a way to see giant pandas without traveling to Sichuan. It is particularly well suited to travelers with children, who can combine the panda viewing with the amusement rides, animal encounters, and open green space that make up the broader complex. The park is best visited as a relaxed half-day or full-day outing from central Yueyang, and it is a useful alternative when lake-side attractions such as Junshan Island are closed due to weather or rough water. Bring water, sun protection in summer, and a long lens if you want close-up panda photographs.
