The Wuxi Ancient Canal Cruise is a boat tour along the best-preserved stretch of the Jiangnan Grand Canal as it runs through central Wuxi, offering a water-level perspective on what is widely considered the most atmospheric section of the canal in the lower Yangtze region. A typical cruise runs for an hour or two depending on the route and departure point, with boats leaving from docks near Nanchan Temple and the Qingming Bridge Ancient Canal Scenic Area. Because the cruise sits at the heart of central Wuxi, it pairs naturally with a walk through the Qingming Bridge district, dinner on Nanchang Street, and a visit to Nanchan Temple into a single evening itinerary, letting visitors see the canal from both the water and the bank over the course of a few hours.
