영산성경 소개

The Lingshan Grand Buddhist Scenic Spot is the full 5A-rated cultural and religious park that surrounds the famous Lingshan Grand Buddha on the hills outside Wuxi, near the western shore of Tai Lake. While most visitors arrive thinking of "Lingshan" primarily as the giant bronze Buddha, the wider scenic area is a substantial Buddhist-themed complex in its own right, laid out across landscaped hillsides and designed as a complete pilgrimage and sightseeing destination rather than a single statue with its parking lot.

Within the park, a sequence of monumental Buddhist sites unfolds along a roughly linear route leading up to the Grand Buddha itself. Among the most important is the Brahma Palace, an enormous, richly decorated hall built in a style drawing on classical Chinese palace and temple architecture, its interior covered with murals, carved wood, gilded columns, and ceiling art that rank among the most lavish Buddhist interiors in the country. Nearby stand the Five Mudra Mandala, a Tibetan-influenced religious structure, and the Nine Dragons Bathing Shakyamuni fountain, where a scheduled music-and-water show depicts the legendary bathing of the newborn Buddha, drawing large crowds for each performance. Gardens, galleries, and smaller devotional halls fill out the spaces between the major monuments.

The scenic area was developed from the late 1980s onward as a deliberate project to recreate, in modern form, the historical prestige of an ancient Buddhist site associated with the legendary visit of the Tang-dynasty monk Xuanzang, giving the park a coherent religious narrative that runs through its layout, signage, and performances. The Grand Buddha itself, completed in the 1990s, anchors the whole site at the top of the processional route, its 88-meter bronze form visible from viewpoints across the park and from miles around.

Given the size of the grounds and the number of supporting buildings, a thorough visit takes most of a day, and the park is built to absorb that kind of time, with tea houses, rest areas, and shaded walks between the major stops. Lingshan pairs naturally with neighboring Nianhua Bay, the Zen-themed resort village just to its west, letting visitors combine the monumental scale of the Buddhist scenic area with the quieter, more atmospheric pace of the resort town in a single overnight trip from Wuxi or from the city's Tai Lake shoreline.
