칭슈산

Qingxiu Mountain, rising beside the Yongjiang River in the southeast of central Nanning, is the city's most famous scenic area and its most beloved public landscape. As a 5A-rated national scenic area, it brings together a chain of forested hills, gardens, pagodas, and temples within an easily accessible park, making it the natural anchor of any first visit to the capital of Guangxi. For travelers looking to understand why Nanning is known across China as the "green city," it is the single best place to start.

The park spreads across a series of interconnected peaks, with paved walking routes, stone stairways, and electric cart paths linking the main sights. The signature landmark is the Longxiang Pagoda, a multi-story brick tower perched on a high point of the ridge, from whose upper galleries the whole of central Nanning, the Yongjiang River, and the green hills beyond can be seen on a clear day. Throughout the park, themed gardens showcase tropical and subtropical plantings, with palm groves, orchid houses, and seasonal flower displays that change character across the year. Small temples, pavilions, and historic inscriptions are scattered among the trees, giving the landscape a cultural layer that rewards slow exploration.

Early morning is the most atmospheric time to visit, when the air is cool, the light is soft, and locals fill the lower paths for exercise, while late afternoon offers the warmest light for photography across the river. Qingxiu Mountain is the centerpiece of any Nanning itinerary, and it pairs naturally with the adjacent Guangxi Museum of Nationalities and the nearby Confucius Temple to form a complete day in the eastern half of the city.
