이드카 사원 소개
Id Kah Mosque is the largest mosque in Kashgar and one of the most significant Islamic religious buildings in China. Located at the centre of the old city, around which the historic urban fabric of Kashgar is organised, the mosque has functioned for centuries as the principal place of worship for the city's Muslim community and as the most prominent physical landmark of Kashgar's religious and cultural identity. For visitors, it is one of the most important historical and architectural sites in the region.
The mosque complex is built around a large central courtyard, with the prayer hall, the gateway, the minaret, and the auxiliary buildings arranged in the traditional layout of an Islamic religious precinct. The architecture combines forms and materials characteristic of Central Asian religious building, with the imposing yellow-tiled gateway, the iwan leading to the prayer hall, and the formal garden setting giving the complex its distinctive identity. The scale of the courtyard, capable of holding thousands of worshippers during major festivals, conveys the religious and social weight of the institution.
The prayer hall itself is a forest of wooden columns supporting a flat roof, with the column capitals and the ceiling decoration executed in the carved and painted style associated with the region. The interior is intentionally austere, in keeping with the liturgical traditions of the community, with the architectural interest concentrated in the structure and the craftsmanship of the columns rather than in figural decoration. The hall's depth and the rhythm of its columns create a strongly contemplative space, and even non-worshipping visitors are often struck by the calm of the interior.
For international visitors, Id Kah Mosque is best approached with respect for its ongoing religious function. The mosque remains an active place of worship, and visiting hours are organised around prayer times, with visitors welcomed outside those periods. Modest dress is expected. Allow around an hour for a relaxed visit, including the courtyard, the prayer hall, and the small displays on the history of the mosque and the local Muslim community. The square in front of the mosque, Id Kah Square, is itself one of the great public spaces of Kashgar, and the surrounding streets are filled with shops, teahouses, and food stalls that round out the visit.
문화유산
The Id Kah Mosque stands on Id Kah Square in the heart of Kashgar's old city, founded in 1442 and one of the largest mosques in China, a major site of Islamic worship in Xinjiang. Its yellow-brick domes and soaring minarets are the old city's most striking skyline, and within the courtyard ancient trees rise above encircling arcades while the prayer hall holds thousands, the architecture a graceful blend of Central Asian and Uyghur style.
관람 안내: Inside the courtyard the yellow-brick arcades and the prayer hall beyond carry a deep quiet, and the minarets trace the old city's skyline against the sun; century-old teahouses line the square outside where pigeons and people share the ground, and at festivals such as Eid al-Adha the great gatherings of worship and celebration make this the finest place to feel Kashgar's religious and street life interwoven.
