The Taipingshan Sightseeing Cableway is an aerial gondola that climbs the forested slopes of Taiping Mountain inside Qingdao's Zhongshan Park, linking three stations over a roughly 1,100-meter route. Open-air two-person cabins lift visitors from the city streets into the canopy, where the view opens across the red-roofed old town to the Yellow Sea and, on clear days, the distant outline of the Laoshan range to the east.

The cableway's three stations each anchor a different part of the experience. The lower station at Zhongshan Park gives immediate access to the park's botanical collections, including its celebrated cherry blossom avenues that draw large crowds in spring.
