The International Commerce Centre, usually known by its initials ICC, is the tallest building in Hong Kong and one of the most prominent single structures on the Kowloon skyline, rising above the West Kowloon reclamation as the visual anchor of the station complex that links the airport express line, the MTR, and the broader road network. As one of the tallest office towers in the world, it functions as a vertical city of offices, a luxury hotel, and the sky100 observation deck open to the public.

The tower's facade, a wall of reflective glass stretching more than a hundred stories above the harbour, mirrors the changing light and weather of the surrounding waterfront, and from many angles across Central and the water it appears as the dominant feature of the Kowloon skyline. The building's slim, elongated form was designed to maximize harbour and city views from within, and the upper floors house the luxury hotel and the observation deck that allow non-tenant visitors to experience the building from inside.

The base of the tower connects into the Elements shopping mall and the broader transport interchange that makes West Kowloon a major gateway for travelers arriving from the airport, so many visitors pass through the lower levels of the complex without necessarily registering the building above. The surrounding district, including the West Kowloon Cultural District and its harbourfront park, has grown up around the tower and reshaped this stretch of the Kowloon waterfront into one of the city's most actively visited cultural quarters.

For a Hong Kong itinerary, the ICC is best appreciated either from a distance, where it dominates the Kowloon skyline from across the water, or from inside, via the sky100 observation deck or one of the upper-floor dining venues that give non-office tenants access to the higher reaches of the tower. It functions as a navigational landmark visible from much of the harbour and the northern shore of Hong Kong Island, and its presence helps orient visitors moving between the cultural district, the harbour front, and the Kowloon station transport hub.
