Nuomixiang
1ᵉ listeNuomixiang is a Dalian sticky-food house with over seventy years of history, long known among locals for red-bean porridge, rice cakes and fried rice-ball dumplings, a shared childhood memory for Dalian people; it was formally incorporated in 1998 as Dalian Nuomixiang Food Co., Ltd.
In Dalian's sweet-food lineage Nuomixiang is the most representative sticky-food house; its signature red-bean porridge is slow-cooked thick and soft, sweet without cloying, regarded by locals as one of the city's oldest dessert shops.
Its pastries use glutinous rice, red bean and sesame as staples; the rice cakes are repeatedly steamed and pounded to a soft, springy bite, and the fried rice-ball dumplings are crisp outside with a soft, sweet, flowing centre, showing the refinement of northeastern sticky-food craft.
