Patrimoine culturel

The Taiwan Sun Cake Museum stands at No. 145, Taiwan Boulevard Section 1 in Taichung, formerly the Quanan Hall, a red-brick, white-banded, ornately gabled building surviving from the Japanese era; it was founded by the bakery descended from the sun-cake inventor Wei Qing-hai, Master A-ming, and traces the history and craft secrets of the sun cake and the legend of Sun Cake Street on Zihyou Road.

Visite: Inside this century-old building, the red-brick arcades and carved gables speak of Taichung's Japanese-era prosperity; the displays hold baking tools, packaging through the years and the story of Master A-ming, letting visitors grasp the secret of the flaky layers and malt filling, while the in-house bakery sells freshly baked sun cakes to carry the taste of Taichung home.
