Grande Muraille de l'Ouest

The West Great Wall is the western-running section of the Ming dynasty Great Wall that extends out from Jiayuguan Fort, forming the left wing of the greater Jiayuguan defensive system in Gansu. Often referred to as the "Bright Wall," it represents the outer line of ramparts that connected the main fortress to the surrounding landscape, and walking its length gives visitors a vivid sense of how the Great Wall operated not as a single barrier but as a layered network of walls, towers, and natural obstacles.
