The Dieshui River Waterfall is a striking urban waterfall on the western fringe of Tengchong's old city center, where the Daying River drops over a volcanic fault cliff in a single dramatic cascade within easy walking distance of the main commercial district. Compact, photogenic, and historically significant, it offers one of the most accessible natural sights in Tengchong and serves as a reminder that the city sits on an unusual geological foundation. Above the falls, a stone footbridge called the Taiji Bridge spans the gorge, and a small viewing pavilion inscribed with the characters for waterfall-watching offers the classic framing of the cascade, with spray rising against the surrounding cliffs and frequent rainbows in sunny weather.

The site is small enough to be appreciated in an hour or so, with the main walking route crossing the bridge, descending to a lower viewpoint, and circling back along the cliff top.
