About Yellow Emperor's Hometown Scenic Area

An English overview of Yellow Emperor's Hometown Scenic Area is coming soon. In the meantime, the ticket price and visiting notes above are current.

Cultural heritage

The Yellow Emperor's Hometown scenic area lies in Xinzheng, Zhengzhou, by tradition the birthplace and capital of Xuanyuan, the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi), the founding ancestor of Chinese civilization. Centered on ancestral-worship culture, with a Xuanyuan hall and a homage square, it is a holy place for Chinese at home and abroad to seek their roots, and the setting for the famous Xinzheng Yellow Emperor Worship Ceremony. Here the remembrance of the first ancestor is fixed into a space one can walk through and pay homage in, giving Huangdi culture and the Chinese root-seeking sentiment a concrete home.

Visiting: Strolling the grounds, visitors can look up at the Xuanyuan hall and cross the solemn homage square, taking in the weight of the Huangdi legend and Chinese root-seeking culture from its steles and architecture; and when the worship ceremony is held, they can feel firsthand the grave atmosphere of Chinese from across the world honoring their shared ancestor.
