The Fengyuan Museum of Lacquer Art stands within Zhongzheng Park in Taichung's Fengyuan District, opened on 26 May 2002 as Taiwan's first public museum of lacquer art. Its ground floor holds display galleries and a working studio showing the history of the craft and works by noted masters, while the upper floor houses a local-industry gallery and a teaching classroom for workshops, making and exchange, recording Fengyuan's standing as Taiwan's home of lacquer.

Visiting: Wandering the museum, one sees warm-hued traditional lacquer bowls and tea ware alongside contemporary pieces, learning the elaborate path of raw lacquer from tapping to coating to burnishing; the museum holds regular workshops and Sino-Japanese exchange shows, letting visitors watch artisans at work and even try lacquering by hand, feeling the beauty of the "Huludun" lacquer city.
