About Dongguan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall

An English overview of Dongguan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall is coming soon. In the meantime, the ticket price and visiting notes above are current.

Cultural heritage

The Dongguan Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall is now the largest such hall in Guangdong, gathering the national-level items inscribed from Dongguan — the Thousand-Horn Lantern, dragon-boat building craft, qilin dance, muyu song and dragon-boat racing — alongside bearer introductions, craft demonstrations and hands-on experience, the core place to understand Dongguan folk culture.

Visiting: The reconstructed Thousand-Horn Lantern is the visual centrepiece, set among dragon-boat models, qilin props and muyu-song libretti; visitors can move through the displays to learn the origin and craft of each national-level item, and at certain hours watch bearers demonstrate their art in person, the single best stop to touch the roots of Dongguan folk culture.
