Giới thiệu về Cổ thành Ung Châu · Phố văn hóa lịch sử "Ba phố hai ngõ"
The Three Streets and Two Alleys Historical and Cultural Block, in the old heart of Nanning, is the most important surviving historic urban landscape in the capital of Guangxi. Often referred to by its shorthand Chinese name, this protected district preserves a knot of old commercial streets and residential lanes whose origins trace back to the Song period and whose surviving fabric includes some of the finest traditional courtyard houses in the city. For travelers looking to step out of modern Nanning and into its pre-modern past, it is the essential stop.
The name refers specifically to three historic commercial streets and two narrower Ming and Qing-era alleys that together structure the district. The broader protected area covers the city blocks around them, encompassing rows of two-story shophouses, courtyard residences, ancestral halls, and small temples whose architecture reflects both the local Lingnan tradition and the influence of southern Chinese merchant culture. Many of the buildings have been carefully restored, and adaptive reuse has brought them back into active life as teahouses, bookshops, craft stores, and small museums, so that the district feels inhabited rather than preserved as a sterile museum.
A walk through the Three Streets and Two Alleys takes anywhere from an hour to a full evening, depending on how often you stop to browse, eat, or photograph the architectural details. The district is at its best in the late afternoon and evening, when the shop fronts are lit and the lanes take on a warm, lantern-lit atmosphere, and small performances and cultural events are sometimes scheduled as part of the area's programming. The blocks are conveniently located close to other central Nanning sights, which makes the district easy to fold into a day of walking through the older downtown.
As the most complete window onto pre-modern Nanning, the Three Streets and Two Alleys district is a must for any traveler whose image of the city has been shaped only by its modern towers and green hills. Atmospheric, walkable, and culturally rich, it adds a historical depth to a Guangxi visit that the region's nature destinations cannot provide.

The Three Streets and Two Lanes Historic District lies in Nanning's Xingning District, the most historically rich and best-preserved traditional neighborhood in the city center, centered on three streets (Xingning Road, Minsheng Road and Jiefang Road) and two lanes (Gold Lion Lane and Silver Lion Lane), gathering a large stock of qilou arcade buildings from the Qing and Republican eras—a living specimen of old Nanning's commercial and urban life.
Tham quan: Strolling through the district reveals the distinctive qilou arcade streetscapes of the Lingnan style, while exploring Nanning's most authentic old-city food culture: local snack stalls, time-honored eateries and folk craft shops are scattered throughout, and in the evening the brightly lit lanes are full of sound and life—the most vivid place to experience Nanning's local way of life.
