Giới thiệu về Băng Cữu Quan Lĩnh

Guanling Glacial Potholes, sometimes called ice mortars, form one of the larger and better-preserved clusters of this unusual geological feature found anywhere in China. Located in the Anshun region's Guanling area, the potholes are cylindrical depressions carved into solid rock, believed to have formed through the grinding, rotational action of meltwater and debris during a much older glacial period.

The potholes here vary enormously in size, from small depressions barely large enough to notice up to substantial basins several meters across and roughly as deep. Their shapes are similarly varied, with some rounded like a full moon and others echoing the outlines of gourds, hearts, or plum blossoms, but nearly all share the same defining characteristic: a narrow opening at the top that widens into a larger cavity below, with a flat or gently curved base.

When sunlight catches the blue-green water that collects in many of the potholes, they take on a striking, gem-like appearance scattered across the rocky terrain, an effect especially notable when viewed from above, with some visitors likening the scene to an alien, otherworldly landscape. Beyond their visual appeal, the potholes hold real scientific value as evidence useful to researchers studying the region's ancient climate and geological history, making the site of interest to both casual visitors and specialists in earth science.

Walking among the potholes involves navigating exposed rock terrain, so sturdy footwear and a bit of caution are worth bringing along, particularly after rain when surfaces can be slippery. The relatively undeveloped, natural state of the site is part of its appeal, offering a rawer experience than some of Anshun's more polished scenic areas.

For hikers and geology enthusiasts visiting Anshun, Guanling Glacial Potholes offers an unusual, less-touristed landscape that stands apart from the area's more famous karst waterfalls and caves, rewarding those willing to explore a bit further afield with a genuinely distinctive natural site well worth the extra travel time.
