Baisuifang Silverware
3-й список"Baisuifang" was first the name of an old lane in Lijiang's old town where silversmiths gathered, called "Jilupu" in Naxi, meaning "by the water." In the 1930s this eight-hundred-year-old silver-beating street gradually merged into family workshops, and in 1938 the Baisuifang name was formally established, its craft passed down through generations to keep the Naxi hand-silver tradition alive.
In February 2024 Baisuifang was recognised by the Ministry of Commerce and four other bodies in the third batch of China Time-Honoured Brands, the first in Lijiang to earn the title. Drawing on Lijiang's deep silver culture, it has designed more than a thousand products and holds over a hundred patents, becoming the leading name carrying Naxi silverware to the whole country.
Baisuifang centres on the traditional Naxi silver-making craft, insisting on hand-hammering, chasing and wire-drawing, with patterns drawn from Naxi auspicious motifs and Dongba symbols. In 2023 it was designated a municipal-level "Naxi Traditional Silver-making Inheritance Base," with district-level bearers and a hand-making team—an active Naxi silver workshop.
Baisuifang is a third-batch China Time-Honoured Brand recognised by the Ministry of Commerce, and the first such brand in Lijiang.
