Changnan

The name 'Changnan' is taken from Jingdezhen's ancient name. Before the Northern Song Jingde era gave the town the name Jingdezhen (after imperial wares marked 'made in the Jingde reign'), the place was long called Changnan, widely cited as one possible origin of the English word 'China'. The brand inherits this historical symbol, grounded in Jingdezhen's hand-made porcelain tradition.

Changnan is a leading recognized time-honored brand in Jingdezhen's ceramic sector. It was added to the third batch of China Time-honored Brands by national commerce authorities in 2024 and named a representative 'Made in Jingdezhen' brand at the Jingdezhen International Ceramic Fair, becoming a banner for the porcelain capital's brand revival.

Its wares follow Jingdezhen's twenty-odd hand-making steps, from preparing clay and throwing and trimming the body to painting, glazing and kiln-firing, upholding the porcelain capital's standard of being 'white as jade, clear as a mirror, thin as paper, resonant as a chime' across blue-and-white, famille-rose and other traditional decorative styles.
