О Музей города Тяньшуй
The Tianshui Museum is the prefecture-level comprehensive museum of the Tianshui region, located in the Qin Zhou district beside the Fuxi Temple. It also serves as the managing institution for two nationally protected sites in the city, the Fuxi Temple and the Hu family Ming-era residence, giving it an unusually broad curatorial responsibility for a regional museum in Gansu.
The permanent collections cover Tianshui's archaeology, ancient history, and folklore. Galleries trace the region from Neolithic cultures through the Silk Road era and into the Ming and Qing dynasties, with holdings that include painted pottery from the early Yellow River basin civilizations, Buddhist sculpture and ritual objects connected to the Maijishan Grottoes, and calligraphy and painting from local literati families. The Fuxi culture hall provides the clearest single introduction to the mythology and ritual significance that surrounds the city.
The museum is particularly valuable for framing what visitors will see at the surrounding sites. Panels and displays explain how the Fuxi tradition was constructed and reconstructed over the centuries, and how the city's position at the junction of the Qinling ranges and the Loess Plateau shaped both its prehistoric cultures and its Silk Road role. Temporary exhibitions rotate through local craft traditions and recent archaeological finds.
A foreign visitor planning a serious Tianshui itinerary should treat the museum as the orientation stop, ideally before the Maijishan Grottoes, the Fuxi Temple, and the Hu residence. Allow roughly an hour and a half. Signage is primarily in Chinese, so a translation app or local guide enriches the experience. Combine the visit with the adjoining temple courtyard in a single morning.
Культурное наследие
The Tianshui Museum is a prefectural comprehensive history museum, charged with collecting, preserving, displaying and studying the cultural relics of the Tianshui region, and with managing two nationally protected sites: the Fuxi Temple and the Hu family residence (the South Mansion). Its collection is strong in Fuxi culture, pre-Qin artefacts, Buddhist sculpture across the ages, and painting and calligraphy, the key place to grasp the thousands of years of Tianshui's lineage from the Dadiwan site to the Ming and Qing old city.
Посещение: The museum's permanent displays cover Fuxi culture, Tianshui history and collection highlights, with pre-Qin bronzes and sculpture across the ages especially worth lingering over; after the museum one can walk to the neighbouring Fuxi Temple and the Hu family mansion, drawing together in half a day the prehistoric civilisation, sacrificial tradition and Ming-era domestic architecture of Tianshui.
