Парк «Веселая гавань»

OH Bay is a large waterfront cultural and commercial district on the coast of Shenzhen's Bao'an central district, facing the Pearl River estuary and the western end of the city's forty-five-kilometre coastline. Built on the site of the former Bao'an Coastal Cultural Park, it is one of the most ambitious recent pieces of public-realm design in Shenzhen and a flagship of the city's continuing expansion westward.

The project covers around 380,000 square metres of land and integrates four main components: a 270,000-square-metre coastal cultural park; the 128-metre Bay Glory Ferris Wheel at the eastern end of the pier; the 20,000-square-metre "Voice of the Bay" performing-arts centre; and approximately 80,000 square metres of east- and west-side commercial streets built directly against the seawall. A JW Marriott hotel sits at the upper level of the complex.

The landscaping is generous and contemporary, with lawns, boardwalks, sculpture installations, and viewing terraces running along the waterfront. The mix of park, retail, dining, and cultural programming makes OH Bay one of the most pleasant places in Shenzhen to spend an evening outdoors, particularly during the cooler months from October to April. Public events, outdoor concerts, and seasonal light shows are programmed regularly.

The Bay Glory Ferris Wheel is the visual centrepiece of the development, and the performing-arts centre hosts touring concerts, drama, and dance through the year. The east and west commercial streets are populated by mid- to high-end restaurants, cafés, lifestyle stores, and concept shops aimed at a young, design-conscious clientele.

For international travellers, OH Bay is the most rewarding single destination on the Bao'an side of Shenzhen and an easy place to spend a half-day, particularly at sunset. Pair the visit with the Bao'an library and the coastal promenade for a fuller impression of western Shenzhen's contemporary urban design.
