The Dujiangyan Giant Panda Park, formerly known as the Panda Park, is one of the principal giant panda bases in the Dujiangyan area and a major draw for visitors to this part of Sichuan. Located in Qingchengshan town, about eighteen kilometers from Dujiangyan city, it sits in the same mountain corridor that includes Mount Qingcheng and Jiezi Ancient Town, and lies close to the UNESCO-listed Sichuan giant panda habitat zone. The climate, the elevation, and the dense bamboo forest make the area an ideal natural range for giant pandas, and the park uses this setting to house and care for its animals in surroundings far closer to wild conditions than a typical urban zoo.

The park is one of several bases in Sichuan dedicated to giant panda research, conservation, and public education. Visitors can observe pandas across a range of ages and life stages, from very young cubs to older animals, in spacious outdoor enclosures designed around the natural terrain. The focus of the park is as much on the science behind panda conservation as on the animals themselves, and the experience is built around understanding the long, careful work that has brought giant pandas back from the edge of extinction. Some areas also house red pandas, which are often a favorite with younger visitors.

Walking the site takes a couple of hours, with shaded paths winding between enclosures, viewing platforms, and education exhibits. The park is well suited to families and to visitors who want a more relaxed alternative to the busier panda bases closer to Chengdu, and the surrounding forest is pleasant in its own right, especially in the cooler months when the mountain air is a relief from the basin heat. Mornings are usually the best time to see pandas active and feeding.

The Dujiangyan Giant Panda Park is commonly combined with Mount Qingcheng, Jiezi Ancient Town, or the nearby Panda Valley as part of a panda-and-mountain day trip from Chengdu or Dujiangyan city. Its location on the main tourist route through the Qingchengshan corridor makes it an easy addition to most itineraries in the region, and the cluster of nearby attractions means that visitors rarely need to choose just one.
