Ландшафтный парк озера Тяньму

The Tianmu Lake Landscape Garden is the core scenic zone of the Tianmu Lake resort area in Liyang, within greater Changzhou, and the place where the lake's scenery is at its most concentrated and photogenic. As a 5A-rated national scenic area, it is the headline attraction of the broader Tianmu Lake complex, offering the classic Jiangnan view of green water, wooded islands, and rolling hills in a single easily walkable site. For most visitors to the Changzhou region, it is the natural starting point for a trip to the lake.

The garden is laid out along the lakeshore, with a network of paths, pavilions, and bridges leading to viewpoints that frame the water and the islands from different angles. Boat trips depart from the shore to take visitors out onto the lake and across to several of the larger islands, where short walking trails and small pavilions offer quiet stops. The design of the landscape garden is deliberate and layered, drawing on classical Chinese garden principles to create scenes that feel composed rather than accidental, and the overall effect is a calm, studied version of the natural lake scenery that surrounds it.

Most travelers spend a half day or a full day in the Landscape Garden, combining the shore walk with a boat loop and a stop on one of the islands. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons, with mild temperatures and clear views across the water, while summer brings the busiest crowds and the most activity on the lake itself. The on-site restaurants in the resort area are known for lake fish and other local dishes, making a long lunch a popular way to break up the visit.

Together with the Nanshan Bamboo Sea and the Yushui Hot Spring, the Landscape Garden forms the classic Tianmu Lake itinerary, and many visitors choose to experience all three over a one- or two-night stay. Poised, photogenic, and easy to enjoy, it is the single best introduction to the natural side of the Changzhou region.
