The Jilin Northeast Tiger Park, formally combined with the Jilin Wild Animal Rescue and Breeding Center, is a large wildlife park inside the Jingyuetan National Forest Park in southeastern Changchun. Dedicated primarily to the Siberian, or Amur, tiger, the great apex predator of the Dongbei forests, the park sits on more than fifty hectares of wooded terrain and faces Changying Century City across the road. For foreign travelers, it offers a focused, forest-set wildlife experience that is quite distinct from a conventional urban zoo.

The park was established by national and provincial forestry authorities in response to the pressures that population growth and human activity have placed on wild animal survival. Its mission combines rescue, breeding, and reintroduction work for endangered species with public education and viewing access. The flagship species is the Siberian tiger, and the enclosures are designed to allow visitors to observe these animals in relatively natural forested settings rather than the concrete pens typical of older city zoos.

Beyond the tigers, the park functions as a broader refuge for rare and endangered wildlife native to northeast China and other regions, with rescue and rehabilitation as a core part of its operating identity. Injured or confiscated animals arrive through the wildlife rescue pipeline, and successful breeding programs contribute both to on-site populations and to wider conservation efforts. The setting is a major part of the experience. Located inside Jingyuetan National Forest Park, the tiger park benefits from the same planted forest, rolling terrain, and clean air that define the wider Jingyue area, and a visit pairs naturally with a half-day walk or drive through Jingyuetan itself. Across the road, Changying Century City offers a thematic jump from wildlife to cinematic spectacle, making this corner of Changchun an efficient cluster for a day of varied sightseeing.

For foreign visitors, the Jilin Northeast Tiger Park is best understood as a forest wildlife reserve centered on Siberian tigers, with a genuine conservation mission underneath the tourist-facing surface. It is neither a sanitized zoo nor a wilderness reserve, but somewhere in between, a place where the most iconic predator of the Russian and Chinese Far East can be seen up close, in a setting that still feels connected to the broader Dongbei landscape.
