Yunzhai

Yunzhai workshops have preserved Changzhou's comb-making craft, handcrafting horn combs and boxwood combs with fine artistry.

Changzhou combs represent the imperial-tribute tradition of palace combs and fine-toothed combs; Yunzhai's boxwood combs and carved combs are finely wrought and were once exported overseas.

The craft involves dozens of steps including material selection, sanding and carving — every comb is individually handcrafted.
